The 2019 St. Patrick’s Day parade/march in Downtown Skokie takes place on Sunday, March 10, kicking off at noon from the 7900 block of Lincoln Avenue across from the Skokie Theater.
New this year, the parade is sponsored by the Skokie Valley Kiwanis Club and the Downtown Skokie Alliance. Everyone marches in this parade! There will be no vehicles or floats, just an abundance of happy people decked out in green – from all nationalities in Skokie – who will march together north on Lincoln Avenue led by a bagpiper and drummer. Scooters, wagons and bicycles welcome!
Two parties will take place at the end of the parade at Lincoln Avenue and Madison Street. One is at The Curragh, 8266 Lincoln Avenue, with Irish entertainment, libations and plenty of delicious Irish food and entertainment, and a family party with children’s games at Madison School, 5100 Madison Street (Madison Street at Lincoln Avenue). There will be a Pot O’ Gold 50/50 Raffle drawing at 2:15 p.m., with proceeds benefitting the Skokie Valley Kiwanis Club that supports children’s charities in Skokie, on the North Shore and around the world.
