Check out the video from the parade held on Sunday, March 10 in beautiful downtown Skokie!
The parade was produced by the Skokie Valley Kiwanis Club and sponsored by Evanston Subaru in Skokie and North Shore Community Bank with additional support from the community provided by a GoFundMe campaign that raised nearly $3000 to pay all the parade expenses and raise funds for the Kiwanis Club.
The parade started at 12 noon on Lincoln Avenue in front of the Skokie Theatre and was lead by some of Skokie’s finest including Chief Anthony Scarpelli. Village Marketing Director Ann Tennes was in front with Skokie’s Mayor George VanDusen. Several of the local school’s mascots were the “Grand Marshalls”.
The parade of hundreds of people made its way north on Lincoln to the Curragh and Madison School where food, music, family activities and more were available. Three local school districts partnered together at Madison School and gave a big crowd a very family friendly place to be.
Thanks to all involved for making this a day to remember and a big thanks to Andy Herrmann of @properties for providing the video.
